$29 once · five parts · no subscription

Most regulation advice fails because it meets the wrong state.

Breathwork when you are already flat. A walk when you are wired. A planner when the problem was never planning. The Downshift starts one step earlier: it finds out which state you are actually in, then points one practice at it.

If you have ADHD and you are still functioning at a high level, you are almost certainly bracing. Holding a low, constant, physical readiness that you stopped noticing years ago because it just feels like how I am.

Bracing is why the rest of it does not stick. It is why breathing exercises feel like a chore, why you can only start things once a deadline makes them frightening, and why a productive week is so often followed by getting ill. You are not failing at the tools. The tools are being handed to a nervous system that is already holding the brake down.

You don’t fix bracing by trying harder. You fix it by finding it first — which is what the first fifteen minutes of this does, with a self-scoring inventory rather than a promise.

What you get

Five parts. The first one scores itself.

Written by Pen King Jr, who spent seventeen years on prescription stimulants before building any of this. Not repurposed, not licensed, not written by a model.

1

The Bracing Map

Fifteen statements across body, mind and behaviour. You tick the ones that are true and it gives you a count and a band — occasional, patterned, or baseline — and tells you which part to start with based on which one you got.

About 12 minutes · scores as you go
2

The 5-Minute Reset

Five timed steps that give your body physical evidence it is safe to stop bracing. Plus the three ways people reliably ruin it — the first being rushing it to get back to being productive, which is the pattern reasserting itself.

About 8 minutes · then five minutes a day
3

The Urgency Audit

Urgency has never once let you down — that is exactly the problem. This maps where it is doing the work steadiness should, across work, relationships, body and money, and what the bill has actually been. Then one small experiment for the week.

About 15 minutes · written, not read
4

The Micro-Regulation Toolkit

Nine practices sized for an ordinary day — three for the morning, three for the middle, three for the end. You are told to pick one per section and run it for a week, not to adopt all nine, because adopting all nine is how this fails.

About 10 minutes
5

Your Action Plan

Everything you wrote in the other four, collected onto one page: where you brace, what it costs, your practice, your three daily anchors, your experiment. The page to come back to — and the honest paragraph about what a week can and cannot change.

About 10 minutes · yours to keep

What it isn’t

  • Not a subscription. $29 once. No renewal, no card kept on file, nothing sitting in your statement next March that you meant to cancel.
  • Not 60 pages of printables. There is a lot of that for sale right now and most of it is the same licensed template with a different cover. This is five parts and every one of them asks you to do something.
  • Not a download. Nothing to save to a folder you will never open again. It opens in your browser and stays there.
  • Not an account. No password, no onboarding, no email verification standing between paying and reading.
  • Not medical care. It is not therapy, not psychiatry, and not a reason to change anything about your medication. Talk to your prescriber about that.
  • Not a replacement for the free stuff. The twelve guided resets and the Regulation Index are free, stay free, and you should use them either way.

Straight answers

The things people actually ask.

Is this a subscription?

No. It is $29 once. There is no renewal, no card on file for next month, and nothing to cancel. That is deliberate: the most common complaint about ADHD tools is a subscription somebody forgot they were paying for, and the fix for that is not a reminder email — it is not charging twice.

How fast do I get it?

Immediately. Stripe sends you straight back here into the material, and the same access link is in your receipt email as a backup. No download, no app, no account, no password.

Do I need an account?

No, and you are not given one. What you type into the worksheets saves in your own browser and is never sent anywhere — those are your honest answers about what urgency has been costing the people closest to you, and they do not belong on a server. The trade-off is that it does not follow you between devices, and that is the right trade.

How is this different from the free resets?

The twelve guided resets are the practice, and they are free and stay free. The Downshift is the part they cannot do: working out which pattern you are running, where it is costing you, and which practice belongs to it. The free library hands you twelve tools. This tells you which one is yours.

What if it doesn’t help?

Email pen@pkjcoaching.com within 30 days and you get the $29 back. One line is enough. You will not be asked to explain yourself or to prove you did the work.

Is this the same as the Resonance membership?

No, and you do not need both. The Downshift finds your pattern, once, for $29. Resonance is $37/month and measures whether the pattern is changing — your Regulation Index weekly, your full history, unlimited reads of your own numbers, a seven-day plan from your lowest item. Buying this signs you up for nothing.

I already did the free 5-day email version. Is this the same thing?

It is the same five topics, rebuilt. The old version was five PDFs you had to print to use, and its Day 1 was a fifteen-item inventory that could not add itself up. This version scores that inventory, keeps what you write, and no longer points you at a weekly live call that is no longer scheduled.

Find it first.

Twenty-nine dollars, once, and about an hour of your attention spread over however many sittings you need. If it does not land, one email inside thirty days and you have your money back.
